NED & Chair Opportunity
Position: Executive Chair
Industry: Biotechnology
Reference: DS280126R
Our client is an early-stage UK life sciences company that develops RNA-targeted small molecule therapeutics to address a class of biology that has historically been considered challenging to drug. They seek an Executive Chair to help shape the next phase of growth and value creation, focusing on business strategy, strategic partnering and institutional fundraising.
With industry interest in RNA-targeted small molecule strategies growing, this hands-on leadership role provides a rare opportunity to help shape the future of a company with a strong technical foundation and clear focus on long-term commercial value creation.
The role requires prior Board-level experience in life sciences or deep tech and a proven track record of supporting early-stage company growth, including fundraising to at least Series A. With a strong focus on developing strategic collaborations, candidates also require pharma experience, gained either through strategic partnering or having successfully exited a company to a pharmaceutical organisation. A strong understanding of RNA-targeted drug discovery and small-molecule therapeutics would be highly desirable.
Based in the UK, it requires at least 2-3 days a week initially, and is expected to transition to full-time in 9-12 months. It provides a competitive package commensurate with the role holder’s experience, including equity and performance-based incentives.
