Position: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Industry: Biopharmaceuticals
Location: Remote (France, Europe or the US)
Reference: JVM220425ACMO
Our client is an extremely well-funded French based biotech company focused on the development of antibody drug conjugates for high unmet need diseases such as cancer.
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will be responsible for developing the portfolio strategy (focusing amongst others on NSCLC, head & neck, esophageal cancer, SCLC and breast cancer) to bring products to market in compliance with global regulatory, legislative and medical/health requirements. The CMO will be responsible for developing strategic plans for the company’s product portfolio to ensure development programs meet quality and safety standards required by medical and regulatory agencies. In addition, the CMO will represent the company with regulatory and legislative agencies, addressing the scientific and medical/health aspects of the company’s product portfolio.
The CMO will be a key member of the Management Team and will make regular reports to the Board of Directors on Company clinical programs.
Although the company is based in France, the ideal CMO can be based elsewhere in Europe or the US, but should be able to travel for meetings with the management team at regular intervals.
The role requires a qualified Medic and the ideal person would be someone actively working in the biotech industry on the development of ADCs for the use in oncology. It’s important the role holder has a track record of success in running clinical trials, a solid KOL network in key indications areas, and is familiar with international regulations and regulatory submissions. Experience of dealing with pre-clinical issues is required, as is the ability to work with outside experts and outsourced development.
The CMO will be an essential part of the Executive Leadership Team and be able to build teams, know how to motivate them to achieve success and be comfortable being hands on and not afraid of hard work. Prior experience of working in a fast-paced biotech company would be advantageous.
